Finding Acne Medication That Works Wonders

Let me guess. You must be tired of searching for acne medication that will really work wonder for your skin problem. You are not alone. Others with the same problems have tried the entire over the counter remedies and nothing seems to work. What you get instead is more irritation and a dry face.

You may have also heard of some home remedies and tried them as well like using toothpaste, Ethyl Alcohol, and picking your pimples off. But you must be very careful in trying these treatments because it may worsen your problem instead of solving it. You will be more vulnerable to blemishes and discomfort. What you need is an acne medication that will work wonder for your face without causing additional damage to your skin.

Here are some tips to start with:

Use Gentle Cleansers

To avoid dry skin from using acne medications, pick a cleanser with moisturizers that will make your skin soft. This is effective in eradicating the dryness caused by this treatment even if you have oily skin.

Cleansers with acne medication in them will just further dry your face. So avoid using them. Just washing your face is enough, so no need to use the solution in your cleanser.

See a Dermatologist for Acne Medication

The first thing your dermatologist will do is to see if you are allergic to any medications. Treatment such as Erythromycin has been known to cause allergy to a lot of people. Your dermatologist will also want to know if you are at risk for pregnancy. For your safety, treatment and medications for pimples or acne problems cannot be prescribed if you are pregnant. Not to mention the effect it will also have for your unborn child.

If you have stubborn pimples, your dermatologist may give you a stronger treatment. You may try out first with a topic solution. Creams that you tried on your face before did not seem to work. But no there is a difference. The ones that your dermatologist will give you have a higher dose than then ones that you buy in the store.

An oral antibiotic may be prescribed by your doctor if there is no improvement after trying a couple of the topical creams. This will kill the bacterium you have in your pores.

So if you want to have a skin free from unsightly blemishes, then use these medications regularly and in no time you will have a younger beautiful skin.
