Back Acne And Your Treatment Options

When it comes to the topic of acne, many people focus on the face as the sole culprit. But, the back tends to harbor acne just as often as the face. Back acne, or bacne, can be one of the toughest sorts of acne to fight but that does not mean the treatment is not available to clear your back of acne.

Facial Acne Versus Back Acne

Both facial acne and back acne are caused by the same clogs in the pores of the skin. When dead skin cells get caught up and cannot flake from the skin, they block the release of oils from the sebaceous glands. With the back skin being thicker than facial skin, the infection or irritation may be deeper.

The deeper the infection or irritation, the deeper the acne treatment will have to work in order to clear up the acne breakout.

Why is Back Acne So Persistent?

If you have ever faced a breakout of back acne, you know that the rash of bumps seems to take forever to heal. Why? It is all in the skin.

The skin on the face is relatively thin. When acne pops up, the treatment instantly hits the affected area and begins to treat the acne breakout. On the back, however, the skin is much thicker than on the face. This means that the infection causing the acne may be deeper into the layers of the skin than the acne appearing on the face.

Treating Back Acne

Luckily, there are tried and true acne treatments for back acne that work very effectively no matter how deep the root of the acne breakout. In order to get rid of back acne, you need only treat the acne in the same manner as you would treat facial acne.

Back acne is really no different than facial acne. The treatment may take longer simply due to the depth of the infection, but all facial acne and back acne treatments serve the same end.

Back acne can be an embarrassing problem. You no longer have to be afraid to remove your shirt or wear that dress with the low back cut. You can regain your self esteem and clear up that back acne breakout with a facial acne treatment proven to clear the skin. Why wait to TRY OUT a new method when there are clearly treatments that just plain work?

Everything You Thought You Knew About Acne Is Wrong

Teenager's biggest contention is Acne. Already they have the pressure in high school, and now they have sores and pimples erupting everywhere on their faces and quickly spreading to the neck and back areas as well.

Many myths about acne have been shown up, but people are still ignorant of them.

Greasy foods cause acne. This is the myth that most often comes up and has been shown up as false. Another falsehood is that chocolate causes acne. If you are allergic to them, yes, then they may cause an acne outbreak, but then you should not have had it in the first place.

The second most commonly used myth is that if you don't have good facial hygiene it causes acne. Acne is not cause by a lack of facial hygiene. It is advisable to have good cleansing habits, but acne is cause by bacteria under the skin, not on top. The best way to treat acne is to start on the inside.

3rd is that stress causes acne. This has ever only happened on rare instances. Stress can cause outbreaked on those who are suseptable to acne outbreaks, but the average person is not normally affected. Everyday stress in teens or adults do not cause acne.

4th is that acne is not serious and doesn't need to be treated, it will go away naturally. This may seem to be true on the surface, but issues relating to acne are more than just cosmetic. Left untreated, acne can leave severe scares on one's face that will affect what they look like forever.

It can lead to confidence and self esteem issues. Think about an actor or celebrities with scarring from acne. Admit that it was probably the first thing you saw or the first think you remember when you try to remember their faces.

Lastly, the myth that you cannot do anything about acne. Children suffering from acne would go untreated, because for years their parents were under the impression that it was a part of puberty and that they had to go through it. Little did they know that it could have long term effects. Luckily today, there are many acne products that are being marketed that have proved to work effectively.

Tips on Treating Adult Acne

Some of us think that acne only occurs with people who are in their teens or young adults. But strange as it may seem, people also get affected when they are in their forties or even fifties. There are various reasons for adult acne, some of them include, hormonal imbalance, sebum secretion, hereditary factors, and food habits. Though there are several treatment options available which handle adult acne, there is no guarantee that adult acne would get cured completely. If you visit a dermatologist for treating adult acne, he or she would normally prescribe you drugs which also take in to consideration the condition of your skin. The underlying causes are usually diagnosed first to arrive at a therapy option and this is done via blood and urine tests. It is common to find adult acne being treated with the help of antibiotics but very severe cases may also need surgery. The doctor would be the best judge to decide on this and depending on the severity of the condition may suggest laser surgery. Before you start to take any self medication, adult acne is best treated after consultation with a dermatologist or your home physician.

Talking about adult acne, it needs to be remembered that treating this condition would entirely depend of the severity of the individual cases. For instance, when the adult acne has been diagnosed as mild type, then the doctor may suggest several topical application creams and lotions containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylic and glycolic acids. When the acne type has been diagnosed as a persistent variety, the doctor would resort to antibiotic therapy with tetracycline, erythromycin, and acutane. There have been numerous technological advances in the field of acne scar removal and removal of pimple marks so the doctor may also use methods like chemical peels and lasers in the treatment modality.

These days the treatment option of adult acne is changing towards herbal treatment. Though it takes more time than other treatment modalities, herbal treatment of acne can be very effective both in the short and long term. Because of the fact that herbal acne treatment is without any side effects or even if there are they are very mild, a lot of people are choosing the herbal mode for treating adult acne. For instance, basil oil and tea tree oil have been known to be extremely effective in the treatment of adult acne. Of course it treats mild acne only. Of the prescription drugs which are available for adult acne, isotretinoin has been very popular with acne patients for its timely efficacy especially for treating severe forms of acne.

Unfortunately many adult acne cases have not got cured completely, though it has been brought under control. If the concerned adult takes some definitive steps, he or she can get relief. For instance, face washing should always be very gently without any scrubbing. Even the diet for an adult acne patient should be carefully monitored completely banning all greasy and oily foods. Men should be extra cautious with their shaving razors as it can negatively impact existing acne.
